12 April 2018

Belfast City Council Super Connected Communities are hosting spring online events in Ardoyne and Girdwood on Thursday 19th April and in Dee Street and Inverary on Friday 20th April. (Libraries NI are also hosting events in Falls Road, Finaghy, Lisburn Road and Suffolk libraries on Thursday 19th April).

These events are one to one hour-long sessions with volunteers from Business in the Community and university students working with Go On NI, to help adults of all ages (including older adults) with their internet skills - whether they are absolute beginners or have a good deal of experience.

Bring your own devices along if you have them but tablets / iPads / laptops will be available to use on the day.

• Connect more with your community and family, and keep in touch on email, social media and skype;

• Use online services such as shopping, travel, banking and government services;

• Use photos and videos,  and using the internet to find out more about hobbies and interests ;

• Keeping safe online and avoiding scams; and

• using the devices you already have (e.g. tablets and laptops) in a practical way, and helping them keep the devices working and solving IT snags
