NEXT SESSION: Consent, Capacity & Safeguarding

29th November 2018 (10.00am - 12.30pm)

in Volunteer Now, 34 Shaftesbury Square, Belfast BT2 7DB

Development work on the Mental Capacity Act (Northern Ireland) 2016 is ongoing, with a view to its implementation in 2020. In the interim, organisations and groups in Northern Ireland need to consider the concepts of consent and mental capacity and their impact on practice, including in the area of adult safeguarding.

Join us to discuss:

Key facts and misconceptions about mental capacity and consent.

The interface of these concepts with the regional adult safeguarding policy and procedures.

Potential impact on organisational practice of the Mental Capacity Act (Northern Ireland) 2016.
