Free training session with Kaleidoscope

28 October 2015

Kaleidoscope is offering a free training session for those involved in working with older people.

The session will be delivered by our specialist drama and movement facilitator Charmaine Mc Bride. This unique session will offer valuable insight into coordinating creative activities for older people including those suffering from dementia and other disabilities.

Learn to play, explore and create using drama and movement as tools to work with older people. We will explore various games, storytelling methods, as well the importance of singing and dancing to encourage cognitive function. The event aims to encourage good practice and confidence when delivering sessions and activities with older people. It will also help practitioners look at their own wellbeing and self care through meditation and breathing.

The training session will be held in the Sean Hollywood Arts Centre on Friday 4th December from 11am-1pm. The session is free and open to all those who work with older people. Representatives and staff of residential care homes, nursing homes, fold groups, and other community organisations are welcome to attend. Places are limited and early registration is vital. To register your interest or for more information, contact Karen at Kaleidoscope via karen@kaleidoscopeni.com or on 07841 204 641.

This session is being delivered by Kaleidoscope as part of the Imagine Arts programme for older people. The programme is supported by the Big Lottery Fund.
