Action on Elder Abuse Conference

26 August 2016

Action on Elder Abuse Northern Ireland, supported by COPNI, is delivering its first national conference: Financially Safe and Secure: Working together to address the financial abuse of older people, sponsored by Ulster Bank.

Date: Friday 30 September 2016
Time: 9.00am - 4.00pm
Venue: Dunadry Hotel, Antrim, BT41 2HA
Cost: 28.80 AEA Members / 36.00 non-members

Commissioner for Older People for Northern Ireland, Eddie Lynch, will provide the key note address and formally launch the results of an examination undertaken with older people to determine the extent and scope of the rise of financial abuse of older people in Northern Ireland.  With research undertaken during 2016 through telephone interviews conducted with older people, the findings will reveal the true face of this often hidden and under reported crime.

Other organisations confirmed to speak at the conference include Action on Elder Abuse, the Office of Care and Protection, Ulster Bank and the Health and Social Care Board.
