  • Flourish Workshop – Cookstown-Suicide Prevention and Mental / Emotional Health & WellbeingRoadshow

7th Dec 2016 – 10:00am-12:00pm

Flourish! is a partnership between Lighthouse Ireland and clergy from across the Christian churches in Northern Ireland. The initiative has the support of the leaders of the four larger churches in Ireland and has been developed in partnership with and supported by the Public Health Agency.

Clergy play such a vital role within our communities and as such we would like to invite you to take some time out of your busy schedule to hear your views on the resources that have been produced by Flourish.

This is an opportunity to have your say and know that your feedback is valued and important to us. We invite clergy, church youth workers, church lay leaders, lay pastoral workers and other church staff from all churches to attend any of the following Flourish Roadshows. We are keen to introduce the initiative and to hear your feedback on the materials developed to support churches.

Key resources on the website include:

  1. Flourish Suicide Prevention & Emotional Wellbeing Pastoral Guidelines and Training Directory for Churches
  2. Flourish Sunday Resource:  Flourish! Sunday Worship Resources:  These resources are a pick and mix toolkit for churches who wish to have a Flourish Sunday Service or to incorporate elements into a regular Sunday service. Additionally it may be used when supporting others, reflecting on the issues of mental health and suicide, and what Christ, through the church, has to offer to those who are struggling in this sphere.
  3. NEW (2016) Flourish! Self-Care Toolkit: A practical and helpful toolkit for churches on promoting emotional wellbeing:  This resource is created in recognition of the need for self-care practice to protect the health and wellbeing of Clergy as they take on their important and valued work with individuals, families and communities who are living with ever increasing levels of emotional distress.
