Get on the Road in Roe Valley

Roe Valley Rural Transport is currently seeking Volunteer car drivers to support their Social Car Service programme, which provides door-to-door transport for passengers who have difficulty using public or other forms of transport.

Volunteers are asked to use their own cars to provide essential transport for local people that are, for one reason or another, experiencing isolation. The journeys are usually within the driver's local community area, but some longer journeys may be required. Volunteers can commit to as much or as little time as they have spare, fitting around their availability. All mileage and other out of pocket expenses will be reimbursed to volunteer drivers.

The project covers the Borough of Limavady, although there is a particular focus on recruiting Volunteers to cover Dungiven, Drumsurn, Greysteel and Magilligan.

Volunteer drivers should be mature, self-motivated, sensitive to the needs of the passenger, with above average driving skills and a full clean driving license.
