Ulster Cancer Foundation - Farmyard Olympics

The Ulster Cancer Foundation is seeking volunteers to support a project focussed on encouraging healthy lifestyles from an early age. The project involves going into nursery settings and reading from UCF's new story book 'Genevieve and the Farmyard Olympics' - which teaches young children about diet, exercise and healthy lifestyles through fun storytelling. The ultimate aim is to reduce the risk of cancer in later life.

Volunteers will travel to nursery schools across Northern Ireland, read to the children and give information to the staff. Although each volunteer will be working independently they will have the full support of the UCF staff who they may contact at any time.

Although not essential, ideally volunteers will have some previous experience of working with young children.
