Keeping Children Safe: Policy Development

What is the training about?

Based on the principles of good practice in safeguarding children and young people as outlined in Keeping Children Safe: Our Duty to Care, this half day certificated training programme covers:

  • legal and policy context of safeguarding children and young people;
  • Keeping Children Safe: Our Duty to Care standards;
  • procedures and guidelines relating to safeguarding children and young people; and
  • developing a safeguarding children and young people policy.

 

Who is the training for?

This training programme is suitable for individuals with responsibility for developing and/or reviewing safeguarding children policy and procedures. While not essential, having prior knowledge of safeguarding children practice is beneficial.

 

How much does the training cost:

30 per person which includes participant materials.

 

Who delivers the training?

Keeping Children Safe training is delivered by qualified and accredited trainers with experience of safeguarding.

 

How long does the training take?

10.00am - 1.00pm

Keeping Children Safe Policy Development Training is an interactive and participative training programme where participants will learn through presentation, group work and discussion.

*NEW* Keeping Children and Adults Safe: Safeguarding Policy support service


Volunteer Now is launching a new one-to-one safeguarding policy support service, where you will meet a safeguarding expert to discuss the review/development of your safeguarding policy, procedures and guidelines against the recognised standards of best practice. You will also receive an action plan and information which will guide you on how to proceed following the session.
