Person? Become a Member

  • Get involved when you want to;
  • Feel useful and make a difference;
  • Get that extra little bit of help when you need it;
  • No money needed;
  • Share your skills and learn new ones.

How does it work? In 4 steps...

  1. To become a member of a Timebank send your details to the closes to you.They will contact you to review your subscription. See the current Timebanks in Northern Ireland
  2. You will list together the skills which you can offer and those that you may require. Any skills you have to share will be particularly welcome and the members will strive to provide you with any help and support you require in return.
  3. For each exchange, everyone agrees to both give and to receive help, to earn and to spend their time credits. For evry hour of time you give providing a service for another member, you receive one time credit.
  4. A record is kept of all the time credits earned and spent. You receive a regular statement showing the balance on their account.

Give Twice:  You can donate your time credits to a community enabling others who can’t contribute to access the skills and support they need.

everyone time is equal

Taxes, benefits, insurance

Members won't be taxed and being a member of the Timebank will not affect the benefits. Indeed there is no costing system involved - everyone's hour is worth the same which makes Timebanking a straight exchange. The ability to spend the credits you earn depends upon the continuation fo individual projects – there is no guarantee or monetary cashing in value of credits includes in the scheme..
