My name is Teresa Stewart, I am 23 years old and a registered volunteer with Newry and Mourne Volunteer Centre. I started volunteering last November after realising it would be a great way to make use of my skills and interests.

Before I went away I never really did any volunteering at all, I always thought that there were other people out there who could do it. But I have now learnt that it is everyone's responsibility to get involved in some way. (read more)

Students should think about volunteering this Student Volunteering Week, 22-28 February. As students generally have a lot of free time it is a great way to learn new skills, take on a challenge and get the opportunity to do things you wouldn't normally do. (read more)

Meabh Murray, 21, is from Finaghy in South Belfast and has just graduated from Queen's University with a degree in Social Work. As part of her degree Meabh had to spend time on placement, so she began volunteering with Mindwise in January. [read more]

Volunteer at Vincent's Centre, Downpatrick - Damien helps with lunches for the senior citizens in the area, serving lunches, chatting to the older people and helping to entertain the group by calling Bingo.

Sharmin has given up her free time and participated in various projects which include "When Cultures Meet". Sharmin says that she volunteers so as, "To learn new skills and pass them on ... It's good to give something back when working with others."
