Emergency First Aid at Work

Where a first aid needs assessment identifies the requirement for an Emergency First Aider in the workplace, this 6-hour qualification fully meets the requirements of the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 and the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1982.

This practical, hands-on course equips learners with the knowledge, confidence and competence to respond effectively to a wide range of workplace first aid situations. Participants will gain essential lifesaving skills and the ability to assess incidents, provide immediate care, and support a casualty until further help arrives. As the course includes practical floor-based activities, learners are advised to wear comfortable clothing suitable for movement and practical participation.

The qualification is also ideal for individuals responsible for first aid provision in voluntary, community, and other non-workplace settings.

This qualification is regulated in the UK and awarded by First Aid Awards (FAA). FAA is regulated by Ofqual and SQA Accreditation. The qualification sits on both the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF) and the Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework (SCQF).

Delivery, assessment and quality assurance are conducted in line with the Assessment Principles for Regulated First Aid Qualifications and current Resuscitation Council UK Guidelines.

Please note:

  • The training qualification/certificate is valid for 3 years
  • We will be practising on CPR dummies, so do please wear comfortable clothing allowing you to get down onto the floor and back up again
  • We will be providing lunch – do please let us know of any special dietary requirements
