Volunteer Now have a range of volunteer involving projects that you can get involved in. We are currently looking to recruit volunteers for our Befriending Service, Volunteer Transport Scheme, Shopping Support Service, Event Volunteers and Ambassador roles.
Our Opportunities
We involve volunteers in the support of people 65+ living in their own home who have little support from family and friends and are feeling isolated and/or lonely.
We aim to support these people through telephone or face-to-face visits. A volunteer will call or visit weekly or fortnightly to provide friendship and hopefully help alleviate feelings of isolation/loneliness.

Volunteers are matched with an older person who, due to older age and age-related health conditions, have been referred for support.
Our clients are unable to get out to do their own shopping and do not have family or friends to do it for them. Volunteers shop weekly or fortnightly.
Drivers support either looked after children (North Down and Ards) to attend school or contact meeting or older people (Belfast) who need to attend healthcare appointments.
Both these roles provide an invaluable service to those they support. Volunteers must have full UK driving license and the use of a car. Mileage expenses are reimbursed each month. Click the link below to find out more about the role and how you can get involved:
No-one ‘sells’ volunteering like someone who volunteers! Volunteer Now is regularly asked to host information stands to promote volunteering; to give talks and workshops to groups about volunteering, what it is, the benefits and how to get involved and deliver tabletop opportunities where we bring volunteering to a group of people.
