Volunteer’s Week VOLT Session: Link, Lunch, Learn (Lisburn)

Volunteers’ Week 2026 is just around the corner, and to mark the occasion Volunteer Now is hosting a series of Networking and Information Sessions across Northern Ireland.

Volunteers’ Week, held annually across the UK from the first Monday in June, is a national celebration recognising the incredible contribution volunteers make to our communities. This year’s celebration will take place from the 1st–7th June 2026.

Since its launch in 1984, Volunteers’ Week has provided organisations and communities with a dedicated moment to thank both current and past volunteers for their invaluable time, energy, and commitment. This year is especially significant as it is also International Volunteer Year 2026, a global, year-long campaign focusing on the UN’s core themes of recognising, measuring, and integrating volunteerism into sustainability and development strategies.

Denise Hayward, CEO of Volunteer Now, says:

“Volunteers’ Week gives organisations the opportunity to have a focused week of celebration and gratitude to go some way to recognising their volunteers’ amazing efforts. Volunteers are the selfless heroes of our communities, who give their time to help other people, charities, community groups and social organisations. They change lives without seeking thanks, reward or remuneration.”

As we mark this special milestone year – both locally and internationally – we want to help you celebrate and appreciate your volunteer teams. Our networking sessions will give you the chance to connect with fellow volunteer‑involving organisations, share ideas, and discover the resources available to support your Volunteers’ Week activities.

We know that organisations simply couldn’t operate without volunteers. So why not take this moment to show them just how valued and appreciated they truly are?

Call into one of our sessions and celebrate the power of recognition and reward in volunteering – and pick up some free Volunteers’ Week merchandise while you’re there! Sign up online or else let your local Volunteer Support Officer know you will be attending.

A light lunch will be provided, so please let us know if you have any dietary requirements.
