Family Volunteering Event supporting The Larder in Newry
Join our series of Family Volunteering Events!
This is an opportunity for parents and children to volunteer together for a few hours, one Saturday a month.
Volunteering as a family can be an enriching experience, fostering a sense of teamwork and compassion. It’s about more than just donating your time; it’s a chance to teach your children valuable life lessons about empathy, gratitude, and responsibility.
- Saturday 18th April from 10.30am
- Location: Tesco Newry
- Time: Approximately 2 hours throughout the day
- Partner: The Larder Foodbank, Newry
The Larder in Newry is a volunteer-led emergency food bank serving the Newry, Mourne, and Down area, providing emergency food parcels and toiletries to anyone in need. Located at 1 St Mary’s Street, Newry. They support families and individuals who are referred to them for essential support through a voucher system from a range of organisations.
What will we be doing?
Families will help by coming along to Tesco Newry and:
- letting shoppers know what the collection is for
- giving out leaflets to let shoppers know what they can buy and donate on their way out of the shop
- taking in donations from shoppers
- supporting the team to transfer the donated items
