Family Volunteering Event

Join our series of Family Volunteering Events!

This is an opportunity for parents and children to volunteer together for a few hours, one Saturday a month.

Volunteering as a family can be an enriching experience, fostering a sense of teamwork and compassion. It’s about more than just donating your time; it’s a chance to teach your children valuable life lessons about empathy, gratitude, and responsibility.

Date: Saturday 28 March 2026 at 10.30am

Location: Silent Valley
Time: Approximately 2 hours
Partner: Mourne Heritage Trust

What will we be doing?

Families will help with maintenance and care of the seeds growing and saplings in tree nursery from native Mourne Origin trees. By volunteering to help young trees grow, you will be building cleaner air, greener spaces, and a healthier future their children can see and experience.

The tasks are straightforward and easy to complete. No previous experience is needed, just a willingness to take part and work together.

This is a great way to spend time as a family and make a real difference. A small amount of time can have a big impact.

Family volunteering is a powerful way to bond, give back to the community, and introduce all of the family to the importance of helping others.
