Adult Safeguarding Standards & Guidance for Sport
The regional adult safeguarding policy Adult Safeguarding: Prevention & Protection in Partnership aims to improve safeguarding arrangements for adults who are at risk of harm from abuse, exploitation or neglect.
The policy and operational procedures are intended for use by all organisations working with or providing services to adults across the statutory, voluntary, community, independent and faith sectors. This includes paid staff and volunteers.
The policy highlights the need for sporting organisations to have robust governance in place with regards to adult safeguarding. These will help minimise the risk of harm for all adults involved in sport. They will protect the organisation, and its staff and volunteers.
