Baton of Hope
The Baton of Hope, inspired by the Olympic torch, serves as a powerful parallel icon highlighting mental wellbeing and suicide prevention. This year’s national event will see the Baton carried across the UK, with Newry being one of the successful locations selected to host a one-day leg of the tour.
We’re putting the call out for volunteers who would like to offer practical help and support to join PIPS on the 𝗕𝗮𝘁𝗼n 𝗼𝗳 𝗛𝗼𝗽𝗲 𝗧𝗼𝘂𝗿 on Wed 3rd September in Newry.
Volunteer roles at this event include
- Pilot & Co-Pilot – leading the Baton group safely along the route
- Navigator – making sure the group are where we need to be
- Group Support – walking alongside the baton and encouraging the Baton Bearers
