Extern seeks new volunteers

Extern transforms lives as the leading social justice charity across the island of Ireland. They believe another chance can change a life. Each year they speak up for and support more than 25,000 adults, children, young people and families.

They are currently recruiting volunteers for the following roles, click the link for more information (note, applications close on Monday 2 October 2023):

Community Mental Health Volunteer- Community Crisis Service:  Operating across Derry/ L’Derry & Strabane, Extern’s Community Crisis Intervention Service (CCIS), is a community-led initiative, which responds to individuals who may be experiencing emotional or situation stress and / or suicidal crisis

Event Support Community Champion- Health & Wellbeing (Larne, Carrick, Shankill): Event Support Community Champions volunteer alongside Extern’s staff teams to deliver a range of health and wellbeing initiatives in the local area, focusing on a programme of events and workshops and engaging with the public to promote Extern’s mental health and wellbeing services.

Youth Engagement Volunteer: Extern offers a wide range of services aimed towards supporting young people aged 8-13 and their families.  Youth Engagement Volunteers support Extern’s staff teams to deliver engaging sessions, workshops and activities to young people who are vulnerable or marginalised, offering hope and inspiring them to develop their skills and interests. Enniskillen, Omagh, Derry, Strabane.
