Volunteers wanted for Guide Dogs NI My Sighted Guide service

Guide Dogs NI are looking for friendly, enthusiastic volunteers who enjoy going for a walk, a coffee and a having a chat.

Their My Sighted Guide services matches a person with sight loss with a sighted guide volunteer.  A sighted guide volunteer is someone who helps a person living with sight loss get out and about confidently in their local area.  You will be provided with full training to allow you to safely guide and navigate someone with sight loss, all whilst building your partner’s confidence and social interaction!

My Sighted Guide partnerships do lots of different things together, like going to art galleries, comedy shows and hill walking… the list goes on! It is a perfect opportunity to meet new people, learn new skills, experience new things and gain confidence while helping someone else… “We meet up every Saturday afternoon and have a lovely few hours together, simply being part of My Sighted Guide and being part of my partner’s life is just great!”
