Northern Ireland Regional Advisory Group Chair

The National Trust in Northern Ireland are looking to recruit a Regional Advisory Group Chair (voluntary position).

With a passion for Northern Ireland, you’ll work closely with out Country Director, Leadership Team and Advisory Group to support, advise and enable the National Trust to be for everyone for ever.

What’s involved?

Our job is to protect and care for places so people and nature can thrive.  We believe nature, beauty and history are for everyone and we recognise that the need for places that connect people to these, and raise their spirits, has never been greater.  We look after and share special places across Northern Ireland from historic houses, collections and the world-famous Giant’s Causeway to beautiful coastlines, countryside, and landscapes

We want everyone to feel welcome and included and to have an opportunity to get involved in the work we do.  To respond effectively to the context, opportunities, and challenges here, we are looking for a new Chair for our Northern Ireland Regional Advisory Group.  As an influential volunteer, you will help us facilitate our Regional Advisory Group and enable our charity to truly be for everyone, for ever.  You will help us think differently and creatively about the opportunities we can offer and how we can remove barriers and create connections.  You will bring new perspectives to help us make a difference.

We are looking for someone with an open mindset, regional awareness and knowledge and the desire to help make our special places the best they can be.  You will be connected into key stakeholder communities, and you will understand the social, economic, political, and environmental trends that have an impact in Northern Ireland, enabling you to contribute to debates of importance to the Trust.  You will bring a strong people focus and excellent leadership skills as well as creative and strategic thinking.

Our Northern Ireland Regional Advisory Group is made up of ten members and one observer (all of whom are volunteers).  It advises, supports, and challenges our Country Director and her team to help us deliver the Trust’s strategy in Northern Ireland.

Closing date for applications is Thursday 17 March 2022.
