Session 7: Rethinking Volunteering: Has COVID-19 Changed Volunteering?  **FULLY BOOKED**

Date:  2 July 2020
Time:  11am – 12pm
Special Guest:  Rob Jackson

Over the last 8 weeks we have held a series of sessions where we have listened to the voices of our members.  We have heard how volunteers have been involved at the heart of the local community response to the COVID-19 pandemic; how organisations have had to rethink how they involve volunteers during this time and unfortunately how some have had to stop what they are doing completely.  We also listened to our members and have heard clear messages that how we think about and manage volunteering is going to change as we start to move to ‘the new normal’ – whatever that will look like.

Whether it is the impact on recruitment, especially with regard to older volunteers, the logistics to enable efficient and thorough induction, training and support, the practical measures to be put in place to accommodate carrying out roles safely, the need for new roles, the steps needed to reassure volunteers and those they are working with of their safety and well-being – there are going to be new challenges!

This is one of the final sessions in the current series and will give you an opportunity to hear from Denise Hayward, Chief Executive Officer, Volunteer Now about the local impact of COVID-19 on volunteering and from Rob Jackson of Rob Jackson Consulting Ltd about the global perspective.  We will hear about the learning to date and give you the opportunity to talk to colleagues about ideas, tips and strategies for volunteering after lockdown.

If you are interested in attending, please contact sandra.faulkner@volunteernow.co.uk to book a place.  You will then be sent a link with joining instructions the day before the session.
