Where do you volunteer?
Local primary school/choir

What inspired you to get involved?
My family

What does your volunteering involve?
Helping children in a key stage one learning support class express themselves through music and play. Coordinating the junior brass ensemble in school. Tutoring junior students in Maths and physics and singing weekly in the Cathedral Choir.

What skills or qualities are required for your volunteering role?
To be a people person. Good with children and young people patient and committed.

What do you enjoy most about volunteering and what has been your highlight?
At the halloween party in the primary school we all had to dress up- I was skeleton and new everyday I see one of the pupils he says “hello Miss skeleton, where is your skeleton? :D”

Why would you encourage others to become a Millennium Volunteer and what advice would you give
I would encourage others to become a volunteer because not only are you giving back to the community but it is also hugely rewarding. An experience you will always remember.
