Belfast: Volunteer Now’s Driving Scheme is funded by Belfast Health and Social Care Trust and provides transport for socially isolated, vulnerable older people across Belfast. Volunteer Drivers take clients to and from their homes to a variety of appointments including those at hospitals, day centres, dentists and colleges. Drives usually take place Monday – Friday but there is an occasional need for evening and weekend drives. Volunteers are reimbursed mileage expenses at 40p per mile. Ards & North Down: Volunteer Now’s Transport Scheme is funded by the South Eastern Health & Social Care Trust and is provided for their Family and Childcare Department. Volunteer Drivers transport ‘looked after’ children to school or contact visits. Volunteers must have full UK driving license and the use of a car. Mileage expenses are reimbursed each month.
